[Solved]Cannot implicitly convert type System.DateTime? to System.DateTime. An explicit conversion exists (are you missing a cast?)

| | CSharp , Html

I got the following error while assigning object property to a DateTime variable. I got a solution, it is due DateTime? Nullable DateTime property in the Class.

if (Model.CreatedOn != null)
                {
                    DateTime newSelectedDate =Model.CreatedOn;

                }

Error:

Solution:

You should assign like the following way,

  if (Model.CreatedOn != null)
                {
                    DateTime newSelectedDate =Model.CreatedOn.Value;
                }

Note: The best way to assigning to the DateTime variable, you need to check it contains value then you can assign to it.
